Job Summary:
The Export Manager will be responsible for driving international sales and managing exports of capital equipment to developing countries.
The role includes business development, logistics coordination, compliance with international trade regulations, and customer relationship
management to expand global market reach.
Key Responsibilities:
1. International Business Development:
o Identify and develop new export markets in developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Establish and maintain relationships with international distributors, contractors, and government agencies.
o Develop and execute strategies to increase global sales.
2. Export Sales & Negotiations:
o Manage inquiries, prepare quotations, and negotiate sales contracts.
o Ensure competitive pricing strategies to penetrate new markets.
o Monitor customer credit terms, payment collection, and risk management.
3. Export Documentation & Compliance:
o Handle all export-related documentation, including invoices, LC (Letter of Credit), and shipping documents.
o Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, import-export policies, and customs laws.
o Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure smooth transactions.
4. Logistics & Supply Chain Management:
o Work with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers for efficient product delivery.
o Optimize shipping routes, transport costs, and delivery timelines.
o Ensure proper packaging and handling of capital equipment for export.
5. Customer Support & After-Sales Service:
o Provide after-sales support, technical assistance, and warranty services.
o Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth installation and training at customer sites.
o Address customer complaints and ensure high satisfaction levels.
6. Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
o analyse market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs in developing countries.
o Identify government tenders and infrastructure projects requiring capital equipment.
o Provide insights for product adaptation to meet international demands.
7. Reporting & Coordination:
o Prepare monthly export sales reports, forecasts, and business expansion plans.
o Work closely with production, finance, and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in International Business, Mechanical Engineering, or MBA in Marketing.
* Experience: 5-10 years in export sales of capital equipment, heavy machinery, or road construction equipment.
* Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of capital equipment, engineering machinery, and road construction equipment.
o Understanding of INCOTERMS, export documentation, and international trade laws.
* Soft Skills:
o Strong negotiation and communication skills. Problem-solving and ability to work in a global business environment.
o Leadership and team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in handling government tenders and infrastructure projects in developing countries.
* Familiarity with financing options like Export Credit Insurance, EXIM Bank support, and international trade finance.
* Multilingual abilities for effective communication with international clients.
